What is F.O.G.S?

F.O.G.S. Membership Benefits

Friends of the Guelph Symphony (or F.O.G.S. for short) is simply an organization of people who are interested in the continuing success of Guelph's Own Orchestra. It only costs $25 to join (or $35 for a couple) and F.O.G.S. members have a number of insider privileges. Check out the list of Benefits!

At present there are two chapters. One is based in Village by the Arboretum, and is for residents of that pleasant community. The second is the City Chapter, for all others - the number of chapters may grow over time.

You will have the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting a fine Guelph organization, which contributes directly to the quality of life in the community.

** Entry into draw for two season tickets for current season - a $250 value!

** Invitation to a F.O.G.S. annual pre-concert reception with GSO members.

** An attractive membership pin

** Acknowledgment in GSO concert program

** Invitation to attend an 'open' rehearsal

** F.O.G.S. Newsletter on-line on this website

Congratulations to CATHERINE DOWNER, the winner of a pair of season tickets for all six 2008-2009 season concerts!

How do I get involved?

Simple! Depending on which some chapter you are eligible for, just contact the Chapter Convenor. They are:-

VBA Chapter - Geoff Howe 519-341-0913
geoff77@sympatico.ca
City Chapter - Adrienne Tedesco 519-824-5955
adjo.tedesco@sympatico.ca

They will send you a membership brochure, or complete one over the phone with you. Then send in your membership cheque ($25 single or $35 couple) to the GSO office. Note that we invite additional donations also, and any donation over the membership amount is gratefully accepted. Tax receipts are of course issued for the full amount.

Can I help in other ways?

Absolutely! Volunteer help is most welcome. You can assist with tasks such as assembling mailouts; assisting with administrative activities; staffing ticket and other tables at non-River Run concerts. If you have a preference, please make this known to the Administrator, Pamela Fielding, at 519-827-0877 or by email at: pamelaf@sentex.ca.
